Our Review of the BH Fitness Duke Magnetic Indoor Cycle
How Easy is the Indoor Cycle to Build?
We built the Duke Magnetic indoor cycle within a matter of minutes. Attach the stabiliser bars, handle bars, console, seat and pedals and you're ready to go. Very simple.
What are the first impressions?
A fantastic indoor cycle. The quality of the bike is superb with excellent detailing on all aspects of the bike.
What's it like to ride?
The BH Fitness Duke Magnetic gives a really smooth ride - all down to the belt drive which is also very quiet. The magnetic resistance works really well and reduces the noise even further - no friction means no noise!! The console is very good and gives some good feedback about how you are performing in your training. If you have a chest belt you can also monitor your heart rate - however, you should note that the chest belt is not included. When pedalling hard the bike feels very stable and gives a good feel of being able to handle the most vigorous workout.
Any niggles?
The resistance selector lever can be a bit fiddly but once you're used to it then this niggle soon goes away. It would have been nice to have a chest belt included in order to make the most of the console - but this is not the end of the world and it's still a great bike to use. If you want to monitor your heartrate a chest belt can be purchasef for about £30.
Anything else to add?
A nice feature of this bike is the pedals which can be used with cycling shoes or normal training shoes.
Overall Impression?
Fantastic quality bike. Great to ride - very smooth and the magnetic resistance adds to the overall experience. A top quality indoor cycle, equally at home in a domestic residence or a spinning class.
